Fun was had by all!
The 2010 Wheels for Wheels for Hospice was a huge success.
Léo Therrien and Jennifer Grooms of the Maison Vale Inco Hospice get drenched with M.P. Glenn Thibeault in the Vespa of Sudbury Dunk Tank during the Ride for Hospice fundraiser held Sunday August 22nd at the Hospice.

We have had another successful event, raising $15,000 with more than 100 participants and great media coverage. All the funds raised will stay in Sudbury to cover operational costs of our community residential hospice.

3rd Annual Bayshore Charity Golf Tournament
Held on Saturday August 14 @ Cedar Green Golf Course. Proceeds were donated to the Sudbury Hospice in the amount of $4071.84.

2010 RBC HIKE FOR HOSPICE

On Sunday May 2nd, the Sudbury Hospice held is its annual RBC Hike for Hospice at the William Bell Gazebo along the Jim Gordon Boardwalk. The total raised reached $95,000 as compared to $65,000 in 2009. WOW! Many thanks to everyone who participated.

RBC donates $5,000 for 2010 Hike for Hospice

Léo Therrien, Executive Director of Maison Vale Inco Hospice,and Jean Cousineau, Fundraising Chair, were presented with a cheque for $5,000 from Allan Knott, RBC Branch Manager. RBC is the Title Sponsor of the Annual RBC Hike for Hospice in Greater Sudbury.
Hiking in memory of a loved one

Friends of the Walden Day Care hiked in memory of Marlene Marshall in 2009 and 2010.
Many families made teams and hiked to honour the memory of their loved one. All funds raised through the RBC Hike for Hospice help ensure that all our services remain free of charge for our residents and their families.
Over 500 people participated in 2010

More than 500 participants participated in the Hike again in 2010. All the funds raised in Sudbury stay in our community to help cover the operational costs of the Sudbury Hospice.

The Cousineau family presents a cheque for $3,000 to the Sudbury Hospice in memory of their mother and grandmother Marie. The family made the presentation during the RBC Hike for Hospice which was held on Sunday, May 4th.
RBC Dominion Securities staff and their families collected $5,410 in pledges for the RBC Hike for Hospice which was held on Sunday, May 4th.

Suzanne Fournier, owner operator of Quizno’s Four Corners and Lasalle presents a cheque for $1000.00 for the 2008 RBC Hike For Hospice that took place on May 4th at the William Bell Gazebo.

Tony Corallo… and Stephane Cloutier…presents Gerry Lougheed Jr., Chair of the Sudbury Hospice and Léo T…, with a cheque for$16,810 which represents RBC’s total contribution to the RBC Hike for Hospice 2008. This year’s RBC Hike for Hospice Hike the new 10-bed residential hospice. More than $43,000 was raised on Sunday May 4 for operational costs of the new 10-bed residential hospice set to open this summer on the shores of Bethel Lake.

Gerry Lougheed Jr. Chair, and Lèo Terrien Director of the Sudbury Hospice were presented with a voucher for $1000.00 worth of merchandise at McQueens furniture. Paul McQueen (seen here) and Dianne McQueen made this donation in kind in support of our 2008 RBC Hike for Hospice.

Léo Therrien, Executive Director of the Sudbury Hospice, was presented with a gift of 20 quilts from Lynn Binny and Janet Burns of the The Sudbury and District Quilting and Stitchery Guild for our new residential hospice due to open this August on the shores of Bethel Lake. These beautiful quilts provide comfort and warmth for the residents who are facing end of life challenges. Thousands of hours and an enormous amount of compassion was put into these beautiful additions to our new Sudbury Hospice.

Gerry Lougheed board chair of the Sudbury Hospice was presented a cheque for $10,000 from…………of First Nickle . This donation is a generous contribution to the new residential Hospice located on Southbay Road over looking Bethal Lake.


Len Leclair, First Deputy Commander of the Royal Canadian Legion District H3, presents Gerry Lougheed Jr., Chair, and Léo Therrien, Executive Director of the Sudbury Hospice, with a cheque for $13,175. This contribution was canvassed by Len from all the R C Legions in his District. This generous donation will be put to good use as the residential hospice is set to open this August on Bethel Lake.
