RBC Hike for Hospice Palliative Care 2009

_ _____

We are proud to present our third Annual RBC Hike for Hospice Palliative Care 2009 which will take place on Sunday May 3, 2009 at the William Bell Gazebo located along the Jim Gordon Boardwalk in Sudbury.

Last year, over 200 participants raised more than $43,000 in cash donations during the RBC Hike for Hospice Palliative Care (doubling the amount raised in 2007). Our goal for this year is $50,000. All the funds raised in our community stays in our community.

Why should you support the RBC Hike for Hospice?

  • To help much needed funds for operational costs of our community residential hospice;
  • To recognize the dedicated volunteers and staff who work with the residents and families of the Hospice;
  • To honour the memory of loved ones who have died;
  • To give tribute to loved ones who are living with a terminal illness;
  • 80% of Canadians say they want quality hospice at the end of life, and less than 15% have access to it;
  • Hospice palliative care is currently under funded and under recognized.

Form a team and Hike with friends, family or co-workers. Simply designate a team captain, choose a team name and together have a ton of fun!
