Roulons pour la Maison Vale Inco Wheels for Hospice 2010.

August 22 - Registration begins at 9 am at the Hospice located at 1028 South Bay Rd, with start at 10 am.

The Armstrong Family was the top fundraiser at the 2009 Wheels for Hospice.

Maison Vale Inco Hospice is excited to host its 2nd Annual Roulons pour la Maison Vale Inco Wheels for Hospice on Sunday, Aug 22 in honour of the residents and families of our community residential hospice.

Last year we raised $12,000 and we had approximately 100 participants. This year our goal is $20,000 with increased participation.

2010 RBC HIKE FOR HOSPICE

On Sunday May 2nd, the Sudbury Hospice held is its annual RBC Hike for Hospice at the William Bell Gazebo along the Jim Gordon Boardwalk. The total raised reached $95,000 as compared to $65,000 in 2009. WOW! Many thanks to everyone who participated.

RBC donates $5,000 for 2010 Hike for Hospice

Léo Therrien, Executive Director of Maison Vale Inco Hospice,and Jean Cousineau, Fundraising Chair, were presented with a cheque for $5,000 from Allan Knott, RBC Branch Manager. RBC is the Title Sponsor of the Annual RBC Hike for Hospice in Greater Sudbury.

Hiking in memory of a loved one

Friends of the Walden Day Care hiked in memory of Marlene Marshall in 2009 and 2010.

Many families made teams and hiked to honour the memory of their loved one. All funds raised through the RBC Hike for Hospice help ensure that all our services remain free of charge for our residents and their families.

Over 500 people participated in 2010

More than 500 participants participated in the Hike again in 2010. All the funds raised in Sudbury stay in our community to help cover the operational costs of the Sudbury Hospice.

ABOUT THE SUDBURY HOSPICE

The Sudbury Hospice provides 24-hour care in a tranquil,
home-like setting to more than 100 residents a year.  The 11,000 square foot residential hospice is located on the site of St. Joseph's Village of Care on South Bay Road, in proximity of Laurentian University and the Northern Ontario School of Medicine.  It looks like a large home situated in a serene natural environment on the shores of Bethel Lake.

Residents can occupy one of 10 private bedrooms equipped with special comfort beds, individual bathrooms and bay windows designed to bring the outside world of sky and water into the world inside. The facility also offers a family room, a children's room, a sacred space, a living & dining area, laundry facilities, office space and an outside deck overlooking Bethel Lake.  Residents are able to see the sunrise over Bethel Lake and the sun go down over Ramsey Lake.
